Luftwaffe helmet M35
The M35 can always been recognized on the dull color, always something lighter than on the M40 and M42, and the double decal of the Wehrmacht, Luftwaffe, Kriegsmarine or Waffen SS. The helmet is also some oval in shape, comparison to the M40 and M42. Another thing where you can recognize a M35 to the other models is the curled metal edge around the base of the helmet. The rivets on both side are simply hollow rivets, that where used for air.
From 1939 to 1940, the German Airforce (Luftwaffe) has on both side of the helmet a decal, just like the army and Navy (Wehrmacht and Kriegsmarine)
The National three colored decal whas always on the right side, while the eagle whas always on the left side!
In 1940 there whas an order to remove the National colors. The eagle stays further on the helmets till early 1943. After 1943, there where no more decals used on helmets. Thats is not a certainty not to find late war helmets (m42) with one decal! The most find decal is the second model, there is known of two different decals and the second one is the most find one.
However, there are known of an early type decal and variations, a second type (late) and variations, but there is also known of 2nd type dark dull green variation used on camouflage helmets
