SS HIMMLER HONOR DAGGER

A few days after the Night of the Long Knives, Heinrich Himmler authorized an SS dedication pattern dagger, with the inscription to appear in a facsimile of his handwriting and bearing his signature!
The blade dedication is the same like on the "Röhm" daggers, " In Herzlicher Kameradschaft, H. Himmler" (Röhm on the Röhm dagger).

Himmler presented 200 initial examples of the dagger bearing his inscription, although the exact number of Himmler dedication daggers that where initially produced is not known!

DESCRIPTION: Standard Eickhorn example of a ebony colored grip, identifiable by its unique shape!
SS rune button is the flatter style with double circles around the runes, who normally have a silver highlight.
Some times they reflect a copper like finisch!
Grip eagle is also the nickel silver one with a high neck, the so called high necked!
Most of the Himmler Honor daggers display gaps in the grip to crossguard fit, 100% normal!
The crossguards of the Himmler dagger are the nickel silver type and where internally marked "AR or "HE".
The lower crossguard is usually bench marked but not always!
The numbers will be 0 through 9.
The blade of the Himmler dagger bears on the obverse the SS motto " Meine Ehre Heisst Treue".
On the reverse is the Himmler dedication " In Herzlicher Kameradschaft, H. Himmler".
The blade bears also on the reverse the only maker for this dagger, the Eickhorn maker mark, close to the crossguard.
