DLV FLYERS KNIFE

The DLV Flyers knife was adopted in 1934.

All the metal fittings of the hilt and scabbard are nickel plated or aluminum!

The grip is made of wood and, just as the scabbard, is covered with a dark blue leather.

In the middle of the crossguard there's a black enameled swastika inset on the front and back.

The blade is a short 6 7/8 inch and double edged with only the manufacturer’s proofmark on the reverse!

When the aforementioned DLV Flyer’s dagger was introduced for officers, a slight modification was made to the Flyer’s knife in 1936, extending the length  with 5cm and substituting the grip and scabbard leather with a blue wrinkle enamel simulating the rough grain of leather.

The DLV spread-wing insignia was stamped on the scabbard throat. On one quillon wing end-area, will be normaaly stamped with the letter “K”! It is possible to find the knife without this stamping!

The complete length of the dagger;

34 cm 13.4 inch

39cm 15.4 inch

The DLV Flyer’s knife has no blade motto!

The hanger for this knife exist of a dark blue or brown leather strap permanently attached to the carrying ring of the upper scabbard fiting.

The knife has also no portepee!
