RLB FIRST MODEL OFFICERS DAGGER
The RLB dagger exists in two models, these models have both two types. The first model RLB Officers dagger and first model EM dagger both from 1936. The second model Officers and EM dagger both from 1938.
The first model leaders dagger, was authorized for RLB officials of officer rank in selected grades. The rank groups where for this type of dagger from 1-4 and the elite group.
The RLB First model Officers dagger was made in 1936. The grip and scabbard of the leader’s dagger features a black or dark blue leather wrap. The dagger has a flat raised oval pommel. The oval pommel screws onto the tang blade and secures the blade to the hilt. On the scabbard, there are two externally mounted silver plated fittings. The straight crossguard features a large stylized national eagle and swastika. The grip shows the early sunburst emblem that is affixed to the center of the leather grip. The straight double-edged blade is found with and without the manufacturer’s proofmark. The most found proofmark on this First model RLB Officers dagger is from “Paul Weyersberg”.
The dagger is 39 cm long and has no motto on the blade. A short leather hanger is riveted to the carrying connector. There is no portepee for this type of dagger.
